I just specced a Phantom which I have promptly fallen in love with. I won't be able to afford this unless I somehow decide to become a supervillain or win the lottery...

Ah yes, the last true couch on wheels of the luxury world. I love this car as far as old world luxury is concerned, but unless I become the piss boy for some oil baron in Dubai, I can count my chances of getting one goodbye. My advice? Just try and talk yourself out of one, and when you get enough scratch, buy a Silver Spur instead. It may not be the same, but it is the next best thing.

There was that one Youtube car reviewer (name escapes me) who managed to get his horde of 12 year old fans to buy him a new loaded Mustang EB using crowdfunding, claiming it was for them and the channel . No financial issues, guy had plenty of money, just not quite enough to spring for the extra features he wanted. Still lives with his parents despite graduating college in a field with plenty of jobs.

If he can do it, maybe this guy can break his leg and ask the internet to chip in for the Phantom and a chauffeur? As long as he posts a review :P What a great public service he'd be doing for Oppos! I'd throw $10 toward that.

Excellent color choice. I see a new S–Class in something similar to this color on my walk to school, and not only is it gorgeous, but it really stands out from all the other big black luxury cars.

For some ridiculous reason, I've put way too much thought into what you would do if you owned this car, but we're a "car guy" or whatever stereotype most of us fall under. Which is better in the Phantom's case? Being the driver? Or being the passenger? I don't think I'd enjoy the car as a passenger as much, being driven around, like I would if I were doing the driving. There's more space and more amenities in the back and it's clearly a car designed from the back forwards, with the comfort of the passengers taking precedent over almost everything else. I guess I'd like to experience both, but if I had to own this car, and it were money coming out of my wallet, I'd rather drive the car myself than pay someone to drive me around..

If I wanted to drive myself and could only have one car, I wouldn't buy a Phantom. I'd imagine most people buying them have enough money to have a nice little fleet of cars to drive, so the Phantom would be the car to take when you're not in the mood to drive. I'm a car guy, but I'm not always in the mood to drive.
